New Year….New Adventures

I know I am a bit late in saying this but HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I certainly cannot believe that we are already at the end of March.  Time just continues to fly by and gets faster and faster.  Seriously wasn’t it just Christmas yesterday???  The beginning of the year has very quickly come and gone.  School is finally back to a “normal” schedule.  Business for the family has returned to a very awesome level of “normal”.  Much of our community is returning to some level of “normal” since the catastrophic events that unfolded in our home state over the last 6 months of 2016.

It is truly a blessing to see our community returning to itself and rebuilding.  A blessing that reminds me on a daily basis of what an amazing place that we call home!   I still truly believe that God, in his infinite wisdom, had an amazing plan for not only this community but my family as well.  It still amazes me every day to sit back and watch that plan unfold in front of me!

I think for our family that plan has been many years in the works….built upon every choice we have made since getting married.  You know, life is always full of twists and turns that leave you completely surprised by where you have wound up.  But God is never surprised as he always knows where each choice will lead us.

This latest phase of our lives started about three years ago when, after much prayer and many sleeplessness nights, my husband began an adventure into the world of working for himself.    Unbeknownst to us, this was yet again all part of God’s plan.  A plan that is leading us to a place we never dreamed we would be….TEXAS!  Com oh say WHAT???  I cannot believe I am saying this!  I myself have never lived in any other state.  My two boys have never lived in any other town much less another state.  So to say this is going to be an adjustment for all us is a complete understatement.

The next couple of months are going to be crazy, stressful, fun, sad and just about every other emotion I can imagine!  At this point we have found a home in TX….our home here is on the market and we are just praying God’s timing and planning will take over.  We are working to get to the end of school, the boys are working hard in school and I just keep telling them there an a great new adventure waiting for us once we finally get moved!

This should definitely be an interesting transition for us having such strong Louisiana roots but I know that God is leading us on this path.  So I am just taking one day at a time.  Trying to stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel.  You should definitely follow along on this journey….it definitely is going to prove to be nothing short CRAZY!
